Profiling Services

If you don't want to invest $30K+ in software and hardware and continuous upgrades, recertifications, etc. OR, if you just don't have the time to deal with the intricacies of the various profiling software and hardware packages, THEN this may be the perfect service for you. I offer professional, individually created scanner profiles and printer profiles.

Printer Profiles

You will need a separate printer profile for each combination of printer/ink/paper that you use. Most people use the same inks and simply change paper in their printer. Some papers require different inks - such as photo black vs. matte black in the Epson line of printers. So, for each combination that you intend to use, the process is as follows:

• I email you a set of target files
• You print the target files three times (helps account for any variation in the printer)
• You send me the prints
• I measure all three copies of the target files and average the result (helps to account for variation in the measurement process)
• I create the profile
• I test the profile using various synthetic and real images
• I email the profile to you
• You install and use the profile

• $249.00 for 3-pack (3 profiles ordered at the same time)

Scanner Profiles

You will need a scanner target, either an IT-8 target or a Hutch Color Target, and the associated reference file. Contact me if you don't know where to obtain one of these. The process is as follows:

• You scan the target at the recommended setttings
• You send me the scan file and the reference file
• I measure the scan file and create the profile
• I email you two profiles: a colorimetrically correct profile, plus a lightened profile which opens up the shadow information a little
• You install and use the profile

• $99.00 for two profiles - standard and lightened versions
